Located on Pink Gin Beach just a 5-minute drive from the airport, LaSource Resort gave Sandals the bones necessary to embark on a massive upgrade and expansion project. The original 100 La Source rooms are now the Pink Gin Village, and are the closest to the beach. Two new villages were added: the Italian Village and the South Seas Village, bringing the total room count to 225. The Italian Village consists of 42 butler suites in two five-story buildings over looking the main pool area, beach and ocean. The South Seas Village is set back from the water, and is designed in clusters of 2-story buildings with Rondoval Suites and Millionaire Suites surrounding the “fun pool” with swim up bar and cabanas.
Describing all 20 room categories would be impossible in this limited space, so I will focus on some of the most outstanding categories.
JAX FAX stayed in the Italian Village, in an oceanview, one-bedroom, Skypool Butler Suite with Veranda Tranquility Soaking Tub (!SKY). Features of this suite include a large living room/dining room with plush coaches and a 65” LED smart TV, a kitchen area with fully stocked wet bar and a separate bedroom with four poster king and 50” LED smart TV. The bathroom features 2 large granite sinks, a Kohler clawfoot soaking tub and a walk-in shower with rain shower head. However, the highlight of this room category is the balcony, accessed by sliding doors from the bedroom and living room. This balcony features a private, infinity plunge pool, day lounge and tranquility soaking tub, all overlooking the ocean. I have never stayed in a more luxurious suite.
Equally as nice are the Rondoval rooms located in the South Seas Village. Similar to Rondoval Suites at other Sandals properties, these freestanding, round, thatched roof units boast a private plunge pool and separate hot tub. Each is surrounded by a six foot privacy fence, creating the feel of a personal oasis in the middle of the resort.
For clients looking for entry level accommodations, suggest the South Seas Premium room with Tranquility Soaking Tub located behind Cucina Romana Italian restaurant. This room block has its own pool.
This is where, in my opinion, Sandals has really raised the bar. Guests have nine restaurants to choose from, including the all new Butch’s Chophouse, a world class, a la carte steakhouse. Being a sushi lover, I was particularly impressed with Soy. The sushi rivals any I have had anywhere, with a wide variety of sushi, sashimi and specialty rolls available. Other dining options include: Cafée de Paris, Spices, Cucina Romana, Dino’s Pizzeria, Kimono, Le Jardinier and Neptune’s.
In addition to all the standard Sandals amenities, this property has several new ones as well. The new Smart TV’s allow guests to manage their stay from the comfort of their suite. Options on the new smart TV include: reviewing and purchasing pictures taken by the resort, previewing Island Routes excursions, watching a movie, previewing Red Lane® Spa services and more.
Many of the rooms and suites now include an outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tub. Additional tubs are being added to oceanview rooms in Pink Gin Village.
One of the best features of this resort is its proximity to the airport. Total transfer time is only five minutes and transfers are included. Advise your clients to look for the Sandals sign and representative just after exiting customs and immigration.
