Change is in the air

As the year 2013 winds down, our collective focus falls on 2014 and the promise it holds. Will it be a good year for the travel industry? What can we all do with our respective businesses to ensure the best year possible for ourselves, our employees and our customers?

JAX FAX Travel Marketing Magazine becomes DESTINATIONS by JAX FAX

As the year changes, so will JAX FAX. We will be undergoing our biggest reincarnation since 1992 when we first started focusing on Destination Marketing. Beginning with our January 2014 issue, we are changing the name of our magazine to DESTINATIONS by JAX FAX to better reflect our continued growth and focus on destination marketing. The core of the magazine will remain the same. We will continue to cover the world in each issue with six geographic sections, each containing  destination articles, supplier news and Best Buys. We will also continue to have Cruise News, Absolute Luxury, FAM Trips and Industry Events in each issue.

What is noticeably missing from this list is any reference to air consolidators and the promotion of international air. The reason for that is, beginning in January of 2014, we will also be launching GETTING THERE by JAX FAX, a new magazine focused solely on the promotion of the airline industry and air consolidators. This new magazine will continue to have the listings of consolidator airfares which have been an integral part of JAX FAX since 1978. However, it will also include additional information on the airline industry including airline news, interviews with airline executives, and of course, our popular maps. These two new magazines will be distributed together on a bi-monthly basis.

Relaunch of www.jaxfax.com

In conjunction with the launch of these two new magazines, we are also announcing the release of our new and vastly improved website, www.jaxfax.com. In keeping with our focus on destination marketing, our new site is designed to be a resource for agents to use to research destinations for your clients. In addition to over 500 destination articles, we will also be continually updating the site with content from tourist boards, on-site reports from our writers, hotel reviews, insights from travel bloggers and informative videos. The site will also contain our popular “Find a Consolidator” search tool, a great new map program from our partner StepMap, FAM Trips and daily news briefs. I encourage you to take some time and get acquainted with all our new site has to offer.

With all of these changes, one thing remains the same - our brand “JAX FAX.” For 43 years the name JAX FAX has always stood for integrity and trust in travel marketing, and will continue to be attached to everything we do. You, our travel agent readers, depend on us to screen the information and suppliers we present you, so in turn, you can confidently recommend them to your clients. It is a trust and a responsibility that we hold sacred and will continue to provide.
